Fun Fits for Your Fourth

Summer days are heating up, which means the Fourth is just around the corner.

This year we’re seeing the return of parades, community fireworks and all kinds of get togethers from small family gatherings to large groups. All of us are ready to get out and celebrate!

That said, our intrepid fashion editors are once again offering up some fantastic outfits that will have you looking stylishly festive for your holiday.

So let’s get started!

WE’LL BE THERE SHORTLY

Most of us spend our daytime on the fourth in the outside. Hot temps, lots of fun activities…it’s no wonder that shorts are the most popular clothing item. So here’s our take on some great short combos you’ll love…

The fireworks aren’t the only thing that’ll sparkle this fourth. Windsor’s lace up crop top in bright red is perfectly matched with this season’s Joe’s Jeans x Stephanie Gottlieb’s fantastic Ozzie shorts. More bling? Yes, please! Zenni’s cherry red, cat eye shades are peppered with dozens of micro-rhinestones. And speaking of stones, we finish this look with BP’s multi-beaded slides and Eye Candy LA’s bursting star dangles.

For this next fit, we channel a little nautical with this blue and white striped romper. Comfy combed cotton and easy sizing will keep you cool as the temperature soar. With such a great one-and-done piece, all that’s truly left is to add in some fun pops of red. In this case we’re craving the combo of M. Gemi’s gladiator sandal, Zenni’s ruby-rimmed browlines and this super tasty Mansur Gavriel x Marimekko collab crossbody (from their new season). Still, we just couldn’t help ourselves when it comes to adding some ice on a hot day and so we finish this fit with Gem & Harmony’s blue and white diamond hoops.

Crisp and white, this embroidered short-sleeve shirt from The Kooples is the perfect starting point for our next fit. Keeping things casual and cute, we pair with Paige’s short-shorts in bluebell blue. Dooney & Bourke’s red and white striped crossbody is definitely flag-worthy. For finishing touches, we keep things playful with Baublebar’s adorbs floaties earrings and round out our look with some sleek, white Ray-Bans.

INSPIRED DRESSING

Prefer a summer dress for your holiday? We’ve got looks that’ll show your stars and stripes without making you look like you took the flag and turned it into a maxi dress (unless that’s your thing, in which case – go for it!).

For our first fit we chose this soft, denim blue mini sundress from Windsor. We love how flirty and playful it looks, and with its open back, it’s sure to keep you cool. We’ve paired it with a darling double layer necklace from Americana that sports a pearl seed choker with red and blue seed flowers and a flag-inspired butterfly. Speaking of flags, these red and white striped slides from Beek are definitely giving off some Old Glory vibes. Bonus, they’re made of ergonomic foam, giving you comfort as you step. All that is left is to slide on a pair of mirror-polished aviators from Blenders.

This next fit will have you looking red hot. Lulus cutout mini dress looks amazing by itself, but when we add some fun accessories, it really turns into one great 4th fit. Jack Rogers’ butterfly sandals and Ella & Elly’s red, white and blue inspired pieces are festive without going too kitschy. Balance out the outfit with luxe pieces, in this case Karl Lagerfeld’s chic backpack/crossbody bag and some cherry cat-eye sunglasses.

Show off your own fireworks with this sexy shift dress from Boston Proper. The loose fit and super breathable fabric makes it a great choice for beating the heat. We pair it with some creamy white espadrille wedges and Palm Angels oval frame sunglasses. Bimba y Lola’s charming white stone star earrings and Persaman’s dark blue metallic bag add just a dash of color.

PATRIOTICALLY POSH

If your Fourth festivities are less BBQ and more private party, you still want to create a celebratory look, just a bit more upscale. Here are some fantastic inspiration outfits that are both posh and patriotic.

This deep blue, lurex pleated knit jumpsuit from Black Halo has jumping for joy. It pairs beautifully with Krewe’s handcrafted, 24K Gold Plated Hardware sunglasses. Infusing the look with some additional R,W&B spirit is Marni’s new season crystal embellished bracelet. Keep the luxe going with a Valentino red evening clutch and slip into Vince Camuto’s red sequined heels.

This next fit features Sachin & Babi’s sweetly romantic flutter dress, all decked out in red, white and blue. Soft, velvety blue Manolo flats will keep you comfortably on your toes as you navigate through the social crowds. Need a little more color pop? You’ve got it with Eye Candy LA’s cherry drop earrings, Grey Ant’s true blue shades and last but certainly not least, Balmain’s red, white and gold clutch bag from the brand’s newest season.

For our last luxe look, we go all out with the tailored white suit. Satin detailing on the collar and the waistband add just the right touch of festive. Certainly there is no denying Madison’s festive red metallic t-shirt, which is made in Italy by hand by a successive process of foil overlaying to achieve the perfect results. What more could you want? How about a cherry clutch bag from Alexander McQueen, some sparkly heels and a playful twist with Baublebar’s Champagne Campaign earrings!
