Like the shift in the wind as fall approaches, so too are changes coming to our jewelry cases. After almost ten years of *delicate* domination, this F/W promises to swing that pendulum back in some big and bold ways.
While tiny and delicate jewelry will always be classic, for the foreseeable future, we’re going big. But unlike in some seasons past that have focused on just one item (looking at you, chunky chain trend of 2019), 23/24 is hitting the GBOGH approach on all cylinders.
So to get you in the know, we’re counting down the top 10 major jewelry trends hitting the feeds and the streets, with plenty of inspiration pieces that are yours for the taking. Let’s dive in!
SONGS OF SILVER
By no means is gold going anywhere, but silver metal is showing up strong this season. Which is welcome news to our cool and neutral toned ladies out there. The steady rise started in summer and now as we head into the cooler months it’s definitely gaining speed.
This mesh textured ring by TOUS is a great way to combo our season’s love of silver and colorful gems.
TOUS, Silver Mesh Ring with Faceted Amethyst $125
(on Sale NOW from $179)
This investment piece from David Yurman is also a classic item that you’ll wear over and over this season.
David Yurman, DY Mercer Chain Bracelet with Pavé Diamonds $1,150 – $1,250 (priced by size)
On the other side of the pocket book, these lovely linked earrings are pure fashion jewelry and perfect if you’re just looking to dip into the trend.
Cato, Hoop Chain Dangle Earrings $6.99
EARSCAPING
This season it’s not just the lobes getting love. Piercing around the ear, from the conch to the helix, are fair game for ornamentation representation. Feeling a bit piercing-gun shy? There are plenty of options available to dress up your ears without the need for permanent hardware.
This chic huggie hoop earring set from Welry creates the illusion of three lobe piercings. Each loop has a different look, including one plain gold, one lab-created emerald and one embellished with six tiny lab-created white sapphires.
Welry.com, 10mm Huggie Hoop Earrings w/Lab-Created Emerald and White Sapphires $40
For a super fresh, modern look, check out this fantastic Sterling silver ear climber earring from the TOUS Magic Nature collection. It requires just a single piercing on the lobe. A cleverly designed ear cuff at the top keeps it neatly in place. Not into chains? No problem, they come right off.
TOUS, Silver Magic Nature Climber Earcuff w/Spinels $188
(on Sale NOW from $269)
Finally, this cuff set from Baublebar caught our eye as an inexpensive, but fun add to your collection. We love the colorful enamel options, but the coolest thing about these is they glow in the dark. Just leave them for a few hours in the sun or strong indoor lights and they positively glow in their respective colors. Perfect for a night out, or just adding some fun to those upcoming holiday events.
Baublebar, You Glow Girl Ear Cuff Set $24
COCKTAIL RING BLING
Ring stacking isn’t new, and you can certainly continue to rock your delicate links, but nowadays we’re not standing on ceremony with just a single statement ring. Grab this maximalist trend by the hand (literally) and play around with rotating in those door knockers alongside your daintier rings for a look that’s all you.
Here’s a bling of beauty from Satya Jewelry. We absolutely love the organic texture of the 18k gold plate and the colorful arrangement of citrine, labradorite, white topaz, and lapis stones.
Satya Jewelry, Vibrant Beauty Cluster Gemstone Ring Set $109
On the hunt for a single stone piece that’s as substantial as it is beautiful? Zoe Lev’s marvelous moonstone ring radiates pure loveliness. Adding to the beauty of the natural cut stone, the ring is embellished with forty tiny but mighty diamonds for an overall look that’s elegant from every angle.
Zoe Lev, Diamond Moonstone Ring in 14k Yellow Gold $790
Finally, if you’re looking to take your signet ring to next level, this silver stunner from Irish Gifts is handcrafted in Ireland. The knotwork design is unique and eye-catching, and the center stone is green Connemara marble (which is meant to bring good luck to the wearer).
Creative Irish Gifts, Connemara Celtic Knotwork Ring $99.99
(on Sale NOW from $149.99)
PEARL DOMINATION
Pearls continue to be just about everywhere, and this F/W season is no different. Whether you prefer them in the classic round, or the ever-variable baroque style, feel free to wear them with abandon.
Made from 99% recycled gold and sustainably sourced pearls, this ring from Aurate NY has a lovely free-form design in both the metal and the three pearls that adorn it. Each ring is slightly different, making the one you wear beautifully bespoke.
Aurate NY, Venus Organic Pearl Tri Gold Ring $360
Looking for that perfect strand that looks great with layering or standing on its own? This 18″ long strand of 8mm pearls from Splendid Pearls is about the most classic style you can get. The 8mm pearl size isn’t so big that it will look out of place with your tee and jeans, but it’s also substantial enough to look chic with your dinner night LBD.
Splendid Pearls, 14k 8-9mm Pearl Necklace $99.99
(on Sale NOW from $379)
Finally, we have these lustrous, baroque freshwater pearl earrings from Ring Concierge. Each paired with a 0.34 carat diamond and 14k solid gold, they strike that ideal balance, making them both day-to-day and formal friendly.
Ring Concierge, Organic Pearl + Diamond Earrings $548
BROOCHING THE SUBJECT
You could say with all these gorg blazers taking center stage that it really only made sense that brooches and pins would come to the forefront of jewelry once more. Designers are taking inspiration from both your grandmother’s colorful and bejeweled collections, as well as those whimsical 80s style that featured bright enamels and clever shapes.
This sweet, filigree leaf brooch by Gem & Harmony is just begging for a home on your lapel.
Gem & Harmony, Filigree Leaf Brooch in 14k Yellow and White Gold $449
Place Balmain’s crystal-embellished drop brooch beneath the collarbone of your sweater to elevate your entire look.
Balmain, Crystal-Embellished Drop Brooch $395
And finally, this sterling silver and freshwater pearl brooch from Splendid Pearls, with its butterfly shape, would look equally cute either pinned to the collar of your button up or center stage as a hair accessory.
Splendid Pearls, Rhodium Plated Silver Freshwater Pearl Brooch $49 (on Sale NOW from $229)
ANTI-NECKLACE THEORY GOES BIG
Sorry TikTok, but like the man said, “rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated”. Not only are necklaces back for the season, they’re positively thriving. Big statement pieces and lots of layering will be everywhere this season.
The chunky chain gets a new twist with Baublebar’s Camille necklace. Instead of the expected links, this bold collar necklace is connected in a classic watch band design, making it lay flat and smooth against your turtleneck and/or open collar.
Baublebar, Camille Necklace $68
Speaking of making a statement, Simon Miller’s attention-getting Dome Necklace will absolutely not be ignored.
Simon Miller, Dome Necklace in Silver $195
We could of course say the same for Nina’s big, beautiful blue agate necklace. In fact, we just did.
Nina, Agate Necklace $26.99
(on Sale NOW from $135)
GETTING PRETTIFIED
Girlish bows, flowers and hearts…this season we’re channeling our coquettish side. While the runways were full of designers using eyelash glue to put ribbon bows onto eyebrows and cheeks (which if you’re into that, absolutely go for it!) but we prefer the more wearable translations of the trend, which in our humble opinion, look just as lovely.
These airy, white gold drop earrings from Beverly Diamonds are forged into the cutest dainty bows.
Beverly Diamonds, Clara Round Lab Diamond Earrings $1,413.87 (on Sale NOW from $2,356.44)
These gold and pearl earrings from Baublebar are so feminine and floral.
Baublebar, Lee Earrings $44
Finally, this fascinating rare rose brooch from Irish Gifts is made from a process called Belleek. This method of taking porcelain and hand painting it dates back to the Queen Victoria era. The process is painstaking, but as you can see the result creates an almost mother-of-pearl luminescence that is one of a kind.
Creative Irish Gifts, Belleek Brooch $119.99
(on Sale NOW from $180)
GONNA SWING FROM THE CHANDELIER
As with all these other jewelry items, earrings are getting unabashedly big. From thick, bold clips to shoulder-grazing drops, we’re craving all sorts of color, sparkle and bling.
Color is very much what you get with these 3-inch drop earrings from Versona.
Versona, Colorful Occasion Earrings $7.99
(on Sale NOW from $14.99)
These sleek silver statement earrings from Kendra Scott are midcentury-inspired with a maximalism effect.
Kendra Scott, Abbie Silver Statement Earrings $120
And finally, these nearly shoulder grazing earrings by Sylvia Toledano are absolutely jaw-dropping.
Sylvia Toledano, Grace Pearl Earrings $380
POWER CUFF GIRLS
Wonder Woman would definitely approve of this season’s major cuff bracelet trend. While these glamorous versions may not be great at deflecting bullets, they certainly are superior at holding our attention.
This olive resin cuff from Cato certainly understood the assignment completely.
Cato, Stone Chain Olive Cuff Bracelet $8.99
Showing us just how bold negative space can be, this cuff bracelet from TOUS resembles liquid silver running around our wrists.
TOUS, Silver Hav Double Bracelet $219
(on Sale NOW from $365)
Finally, we fell immediately in love with Kendra Scott’s intricate filigree cuff. We’re sure you will too.
Kendra Scott, Candice Gold Cuff Bracelet $80
PERFECT PRETTY PENDANTS
At last we come to our final big jewelry trend. Long pendant necklaces, particularly cord pendant necklaces, have been showing up in feeds across the pond for a bit now. Expect to see them on more than a few necks here in the states very soon.
This mighty green tile pendant from Kenneth Jay Lane will look fantastic with this season’s cashmere sweaters. Equally fantastic? The price.
Kenneth Jay Lane, Ceramic Pendant Necklace $29.99
(on Sale NOW from $75)
This long Rhodonite beaded necklace showcases a beautiful, 18KT gold plate mandala (the spiritual symbol that represents the Infinite Cycle), creating a meaningful addition to your everyday wear.
Satya Jewelry, Spiritual Evolution Rhodonite Mala $159
Last, but certainly not least, this playful flower pendant from Miami-based brand, éliou, is like a breath of fresh air that reminds us to smile.
éliou, Feve Flower Charm Cord Necklace $155
So as you’re making your jewelry choices this season, remember to think about adding something big and bold. Whether you prefer your statement piece to be a necklace, earring or an exotic brooch, we hope you have fun!
