Our Fast 5 Favorites from Birkenstock’s Buzzy Collabs

Whose ready for some fresh takes from your favorite iconic brand?

Fashion brands collaborate with other brands for a lot of reasons. They help tap into each other’s audience that might not have been familiar with their products otherwise. They spark innovation and creativity by bringing together different perspectives, styles, and expertise. And of course, collaborating with a well-respected or high-profile brand can elevate a fashion label’s status and credibility.

It stands to reason then, that a lot of brands have ‘Collab With Birkenstock’ on their life goals list. The iconic brand synonymous with comfy sandals and cozy clogs (they were making serious lounge footwear before the term was even a gleam in Social’s eye), the brand has been absolute fire this year, partnering with other amazing brands from haute couture to edgy streetwear.

So whether you’re already a lifetime lover of Birks, or Birken-curious, here are our Editors’ top five favorites from their best collabs. Ready to fall in love?

#5 – THE STÜSSY COLLAB

Can you wear Birks in winter? Oh, yes. This collab between Birkenstock and surfer-turned-streetwear brand Stüssy is based on Birk’s sleek, minimalist Kyoto sandal and gives it a cold weather upgrade with extra-long shearling that will keep your tootsies toasty. Called the Solana, it merges the Birkenstock brand’s ergonomic feel with Stüssy’s surf/skate aesthetic. Originally, it came in three color options, however the caramel is no longer available, leaving a soft, off-white bone color option, as well as this fresh, minty green, which TBH is actually our fav.

#4 – THE ADER ERROR COLLAB

What do you get when you combine an iconic brand that has been around for over two hundred years (250 years to be precise), and a brash, young (less than a decade old) experimental brand that is run by a Banksy-style design collective? In the case of Birkenstock and South Korean ironic brand Ader Error, it’s a match made in fashion heaven. Choosing to “re-interpret the Gizeh, Arizona, Milano, and A630 PU Clog”, the finished collab items are a fusion of German practicality and Korean tech-inspired energy. There are four shoe silhouettes, but our Editor favorite of the collection is the pristine Milano Tech, which comes in crisp white leather, with Ader Error’s clean, blue brand color.

#3 – THE CONCEPTS COLLAB

Drawing inspiration from Miami and the Art Deco movement, this collab between Birkenstock and Concepts is a jubilant expression of pure fun. The silhouette starts with Birkenstock’s classic Arizona sandal and adds a dash of whimsy with coquettish, wispy long cow hair in color combinations such as hyper mauve, lime green, hyper pink and our Editors favorite, a delicious peachy faded orange. Craving this combo? Better order up fast, because this is a limited edition collab, and when they’re gone, it’s for good.

#2 – THE FEAR OF GOD COLLAB

One of the major powerhouse streetwear brands out there, Fear of God is known for it’s contemporary luxe. Pairing that vibe with Birkenstock’s primary focus of excellent quality, casual footwear has created a re-envisioned Los Feliz slide into a sculptural work of wearable art. This collab version comes in three soulful neutrals, however our Editors are completely partial towards the classic Birk taupe.

#1 – THE DIOR COLLAB

This collab is so fresh, it’s not even out yet! But that doesn’t stop us from putting it on this list, because everything we’re seeing so far about this summery, elegant, leveled up Tokio mule has us all in. The first versions were seen on the Dior Paris Fashion Week runway. The ready-to-wear versions are officially coming in June, so the best way to ensure you score this ode to artistry and craftsmanship is to input your email address on the Birkenstock site (as in, click on that link below). There are three colors set for release, including gray green, khaki, and our love-at-first-sight favorite, this beautiful sunny yellow.
