Fresh Fall Office Looks (even if you’re WFH)

Whether you’re officially back full time, a few days a week or permanently on WFH status, let us help you up your fall fit game with 10 fits that aren’t just office friendly, they’re office fabulous.

While we’re still reeling in the heat, a quick reminder that Fall will be here faster than you can say “Pumpkin Spice Latte”. And if you’re like us, and the change of the season includes a dopamine rush at the thought of donning cozy sweaters and comfy boots? This article is definitely for you!

Our editors have put together ten of their favorite looks, perfect for upping your fall work wardrobe…even if you’re daily commute only includes a quick jot out to get that aforementioned cup o’ latte.

Our first fit channels a little of that latte love. Medium toned browns, such as camel, cognac and caramel, are very much trending this season, so what better to mix it with than some frothy cream? The anchor piece of the look is Windsor’s flowy, chiffon midi dress in a creamy off-white. To this we pair camel colored booties from Boston Proper and Lulus vegan leather moto jacket (the cropped jacket enhances the hourglass look of the dress). Our accessories include Kendra Scott’s eye-catching chunky chain bracelet and ILoveDooney’s large monogramed tote.

Sometimes the morning just gets away from you and getting out the door means thinking fast. A wrap dress gives you style in an instant, especially when it’s from Diane von Furstenberg’s new fall collection. This fun double-dot pattern plays well with this season’s busy and bold pattern obsession. Add a flash of bling with some emerald and pearl earrings, grab-and-go your work gear with Mansur Gavriel’s large Candy Bag, and then it’s just a quick slide into Matisse’s chunky heeled sandals and a quick slide on of Ray-Ban’s wayfarers and you are out the door with time to spare.

Take a walk on the wild side with this season’s favorite animal print, Leopard. These easy-fitting ankle pants from The Kooples give a lot of punch for the pocketbook. Adding this long-sleeved Kimber top in pure white, with a half tucked in look will keep it fresh, as will a soft pair of Bruno Magli’s loafers in almond suede. Pair them with a color-popping small tote from Dagne Dover. This one is called the Tokyo Turnlock and has six ‘turn locks’ on each side that enables you to create just the right strap length you prefer with whatever outfit you’re wearing. Finish things off with a double dose of jewelry by double stacking Baublebar’s chunky gold Michel necklace and the freshwater pearls of the Elle.

In case you were unaware, mini skirts are everywhere for fall. This neutral-toned, pleated one from Harper will work with a variety of wardrobe items. We especially like how it pairs with this bold patterned sweater set from Sugarlips. The one-and-only G.H. Bass Weejuns in ombré red give an unexpected kick for your feet and we round things out with Krewe’s Soniat oversized shades that are new for the season.

Moody fall colors permeate this next fit. Starting with these gorg olive green, wide leg pants from Windsor, which go so well with La Double J’s dark floral print turtleneck. Make a stomping statement with these chunky platform mary jane’s from Sam Edelman and keep everything in place with the Shelia Tote in burnt caramel. Lastly, don’t forget to give your lobes some love with some tasseled wood drop earrings.

On the flip side of this season’s trending colors are brights. And it doesn’t get much brighter than hot pink. Not sure how to handle such a vibrant tone? You may be surprised at how well it pairs with fall’s more ‘traditional’ colors such as browns and burgundy. This Max Mara oversized blazer is the perfect example, as are Matisse’s cognac clog bootie and ETRO’s paisley patterned shoulder bag. Don’t forget that statement earrings in brights are also very popular. These bejeweled beauties from Eye Candy LA bring all the colors of the outfit together and add that playful note of bling.

So what fabric is dominating this fall? That would be leather…on, well, almost everything. Take a dip into this trend with Milly’s dark chocolate, vegan leather pant, the Hellena. It’s ankle cropped with a slight flare, which makes a creamy pair of Mansur Gavriel’s square-toed flats an ideal companion. Of course, you could argue that Elie Tahari’s silky tie neck shirt is equally cohesive (and you’d be right). Adding just a touch of texture and fun, J. McLaughlin’s Angela tote is roomy enough for your office supplies. And who could resist these adorbs little floral and pearl earrings from Marchesa Notte? Certainly not us!

The mini isn’t the only skirt length getting a lot of attention this season. The voluptuous volumed maxi dress is going strong for ’22 fall. This ankle-grazing one from CWC, with its fall-toned Boho patterns is a whole vibe. Give it some love with Lulus chunky platform Chelseas, Burberry’s equally oversized shades and Kendra Scott’s statement earrings. And while we hope for sunny days ahead, we know fall can be fickle so make sure to stash your stuff securely in Dooney & Bourke’s all weather leather tote.

Puffy sleeves? In-deed! This square-necked blouse from Joie has such a fun look with a playful pattern. The fitted silhouette of the top partners perfectly with high-waist, wide leg trouser jeans (like NYDJ’s shown here). With so much real estate showing up top, your neck is just begging for a statement piece. This necklace from Downtown East doesn’t disappoint. Nor do these chunky, updated loafers from M. Gemi.

Another knitwear trend that is big and back for ’22 is the oversized knitted vest. Surprisingly versatile, you can wear this item with anything from mini skirts to wide flared pants. Unlike in previous seasons when there was an established “go chunk or go home” rule with sweaters, this season’s oversized knitted vest comes in a variety of styles and price ranges. We found this pretty, toasted pumpkin one at Target for a steal of a price. We keep the pattern play going with a plaid mini from Lulus and some show-stopping platforms from Circus NY. Speaking of show-stopping, Jacquemus’s new Logo Plaque shoulder bag is so pretty, it could double as a work of art (one that also has storage for your keys and phone, that is). Our finishing touch are some fun, fringe-y ear crawlers from Baublebar to add that final bit of bling.
