2023 Spring Summer Jewelry Trends

This season has something for everyone (no really!). Channeling big and chunky? There’s bangles and beads aplenty. More of a minimalist momma? Delicate hearts and celestial trinkets abound. We’ll help you navigate the big trends with 30 pieces that you truly must make your own.

Be it costume or fine, this season’s jewelry is all about personality. As in “What works for you?” Statement and standout pieces are on the rise, but so is renewed interest in investing in quality classics. Like anything in fashion, the best look is the one that makes you happy.

STATEMENT EARRINGS

When the masks come off, the earrings get bold. Shoulder dusters, sculptural pieces, and rocking rhinestones are back in a big, BIG way.

These silver and blue, sculptural pieces from Ellery are absolute stunners with their abstract twist and distinct trumpet design.

These handmade statement drop earrings from Zulily are not only showstoppers from their size but also with their gorgeous orange cat’s eye stones. These fellows are the perfect shade of Tangelo, which is one of the major trending colors for S/S 2023 (check out our article on that HERE).

Zulily, Handmade Art Orange Cat’s Eye Earrings $17.99

BOLD BANGLES & CUFFS

This holiday jewelry trend continues to dominate all the way into S/S. Not since the 80s have we seen such demand for these oversized beauties. Choose your material of choice – from metals to resins to plastics, you can’t go wrong! Really looking to lean into this trend? Mix them up and stack them.

Starting with Non-Branded’s silver wave cuff that evokes (as the name implies) a wave of liquid silver wrapping around your wrist.

INTENTIONAL PIECES

Personalized jewelry really peaked during the pandemic, but the trend is still going strong. Keepsake pieces that include monograms, astrological symbols and birthstones are continuing to show up on necklaces, signet rings and charm bracelets.

Starting with this sweet signet ring from Zoe Lev in Gold Vermeil that can be personalized with up to three initials in Block, Script or Gothic fonts. Did we mention that pinky signet rings also happen to be mega-trending?

Zoe Lev, Monogram Signet Ring in Gold Vermeil $95

No surprise that even Celebs like to reach for the stars. Baublebar’s Astro medallion necklace is a favorite of Katie Holmes. The 18k gold plated piece can be worn two ways (choose one depending on how you’re feeling). The double-sided pendant features an enamel astrological chart showcasing all the zodiac signs on one side, and the other is a gold version of the astrological chart complete with tiny Cubic Zirconia accents.

Baublebar, Astro 18k Gold Medallion Necklace $128

Got a favorite Emoji? Alex and Ani’s emoji charm bracelet collab has a whole series of options from Winky Face to Emoji Poo (yup, not kidding). Here’s one of our favs from the collection, but we encourage you to find your own!

HEART SHAPED

For years, its had a *bit* of a bad rap as being a cheesy choice (blame it on all those cheaply made, turn your skin green, dollar store items). This season, heart shaped jewelry is going haute.

Like these gold drop earrings from Kendra Scott, made with fiery Kyocera opals that playfully reflect the light as you move.

Kendra Scott, Heart Gold Drop Earrings in Kyocera Opal $110

There’s no missing this chunky, white/gold-toned resin and enamel ring by Julietta. A perfect companion to your favorite office power suit.

Julietta, Heart-Shaped Resin Ring $229

Encrusted with petite rhinestones, this delicate bracelet is the perfect way to add a subtle dose of affection to your curated wrist stack. Plus the pull-tie closure allows you full control over the fit.

Baublebar, Brittany Bracelet $42

Of course, if you’re looking for a bolder, minimalist option, this chunky cuff bracelet from Zadig & Voltaire will do the job.

Zadig & Voltaire, Idol Heart Bracelet $269

Finally, we have one of the most iconic heart-shaped jewelry pieces, the one and only “Please Return to Tiffany & Co”. These mini pendants date back to the early 80s and have been a fan favorite of the brand ever since.

Tiffany & Co, Return to Tiffany Mini Sterling Pendant $270

MIXED METALS & CHUNK PUNK

In the 90s, it was called Nouveau Grunge. This season, we’re calling it Grunge 2.0. Similar in angsty spirit, this time we’re doing it with polish. Think a little less Courtney Love, and a little more Zendaya a-la Euphoria.

Punk goes sleek with this dark and (literally) twisted skull bracelet by Eye Candy LA. Made of resilient titanium that’s been oxidized to a dusky gunmetal, this is a piece for those moody moments.

Eye Candy LA, The Bold Collection, Titanium Skull Cuff $35.99 (on Sale NOW from $89)

A little spike goes a long way with these Alexander McQueen spike and chain earrings. We love how the mixed metal just accentuates the whole vibe.

Alexander McQueen, Punk Stud Earrings $540

Of course if mixed materials with a luxe punk look is your jam, Joomi Lim has your back (or neck, rather). This multi-layered necklace mixes pearls, chains, hoops and crystals together for a whole new level of chic.

Joomi Lim, 22k Gold Plated Necklace w/Swarovski Crystals & Pearls $334

Do we even have to mention that safety pins and punk go together like Sid and Nancy? Didn’t think so…

Baublebar, Spillo 18k Gold Earrings $54

How do you mix your dark and moody with big bling? Let David Yurman show you with this fantastic statement ring.

David Yurman, Streamline Black Titanium & Pave Black Diamonds $1,975

WELCOME TO THE EMERALD CITY

Maybe it’s because they’re prized as having the ability to bring balance and calm to their wearer (we’ve all been struggling with finding both these past few years). Or perhaps it’s because it’s such a favorite among Celebs. Whatever the reason may be, we’re all taking notice that these deep green precious stones are having a serious moment.

Gold and emerald is a classic combination that’s made fresh in these delicate bar stud earrings from Zoe Lev. Each earring gently nests five natural emeralds in 14k solid gold. So pretty you’ll want to wear them every day.

Zoe Lev, Emerald Bar Stud Earrings $340

Another hot trend that’s showing no sign of slowing down is the Toi et Moi ring setting. If you’re unfamiliar, in French “toi et moi” means “you and me.” And while it started in the engagement ring category (still going strong BTW), you certainly don’t have to wait for any S.O. to try this chic take on the two stone setting. Here’s a gorg version from AUrate New York that combines a brilliant emerald-cut emerald with a pear-shaped white topaz.

AUrate New York, Toi et Moi Gemstone Ring $250

Craving a more organic look to your gemstones? This rough hewn emerald pendant from David Yurman displays a much more natural look, held in place by gunmetal sterling silver and adorned with tiny rock crystals.

David Yurman, Emerald Stone Pendant Necklace $950

Like any precious stone, no two emeralds are completely alike. This faceted disc cut bracelet of semi-precious emeralds from Jia Jia show off just how lovely the variations of this stone can be.

Jia Jia, 14K Yellow Gold Emerald Bracelet $540

Finally, if you’re looking for just a flash of green, this 18k yellow gold ear cuff by Shay will be a welcome addition to your collection. The emeralds are graduated (larger in the center; smaller as you go out) and set in a polished prong setting. Sleek and stylish for special events or everyday wear.

SHAY, 18K Yellow Gold Emerald Ear Cuff $990
