2022 Fall Looks – Top Trending Pieces You Need for Fall

Join us as we investigate the interesting Fall trends, from casual to office looks.

OVERSIZED BLAZERS

When it comes to fall and all the layering that comes with it, it’s no surprise really that the oversized blazer would continue its trajectory as a mainstay in everyone’s F/W wardrobe. As the weather cools, swap out your S/S boxy linen version for one of this season’s leather variety. This rich chocolaty one from Windsor is faux leather fabulous and goes so well with a pair of Joe’s Jeans high-rise crops. Underneath, consider playing with this season’s lingerie look. This black and cream version from rag & bone is 100% silk cami coquettishness. Accessorizing this fit, we add some sleek sock boots from Lulus and some beautiful, precious stone earrings from Kendra Scott.

KNEE HIGH PLATFORMS

In the wake of several seasons of ankle bootie rule, the tried and true knee high boot is finally seeing a return in the spotlight. This season, the knee high is getting a real boost…as in thick and unabashedly stocky platform soles and heels. This sleek black number from Sam Edelman is sure to be your next season staple. Pair it with a beautiful bodycon sweater dress, like this two-toned mini version from Windsor. Kendra Scott adds needed bling with some substantial gold hoops and a neutral mix, triple-colored triple band ring. Last but not least, grab one of this season’s slouchy hobo bags that’s big enough to carry all your necessities and then some.

BARBIECORE 2.0

Unless you’ve been living in a cave with zero wifi, you’ve seen this trend all over social media. Ever since the first pics of Margot Robbie began to surface back in April, a tidal wave of pink on pink styling has engulfed us all. Of course a complete head to toe, all pink look is pure magic on the red carpet. However IRL, we’re seeing more of a “BC 2.0” version, which uses a variation of hues and textures. Here we’ve started with a sexy satiny blouse in fab fuchsia from Windsor and paired it with their equally eye-catching, high-waisted pant in marvelous magenta. Next we add a daring red (a color that has been trending in its own right this Fall) with M. Gemi’s suede flats. For that pure, Malibu Barbie pink, look no further than Miu Miu’s new season of their Matelassé mini tote. Bringing all those wonderful shades together is a gorgeous beaded necklace and funky, fiery cocktail ring from Kendra Scott.

MAXIMALIST CLOGS

Not since scores of 90s teens fawned over the latest dELiA*s catalog have we seen such unbridled love for the extra-chunky (and sometimes clunky) maxed out clog. M. Gemi’s The Greta is a nigh-perfect, nostalgic beauty that pairs perfectly with this season’s mini skirt, such as Windsor’s fall-inspired plaid. Continue that 90s vibe with Boston Proper’s floral sleeved sweater and Dooney & Bourke’s classic saddlebag purse. All that’s left is to slip on some stunning mother-of-pearl statement earrings and you are good to go!

UNAPOLOGETIC GLITZY EVENING BAG

In-person parties back in a big way! So too is our love for beaded, blingy, glittery, and unapologetically glitzy evening bags. This season, Paco Rabanne has given us a special treat with a modern redesign of an archival style with their soon-to-be-iconic 1969 Party Ball bag. With so much silvery goodness, we loved pairing it with Windsor’s deep blue satin party dress. Keeping the “why do what you can overdo” mantra going, we added Nina’s fantastical, feathered Dora pump and some long, silver tasseled earrings from Kendra Scott. Let the party begin!

GET SUSPENDED

Between coveralls, shortalls, and dress-alls, 2022 might as well be called the Year of the Suspenders. In addition to the ‘bib and brace’ variety, we’re seeing growing attraction of the high-waist pants and wide belt suspender look.  Depending on the material, the pants + suspenders look can span normcore to preppy to punk. This eye-catching version from Windsor definitely channels the latter. The black and white grid pattern and extra wide suspenders pair perfectly with a well-constructed white tank (fun fact- the white tank plus dress pant combo has been on every runway from Chloe to Veneta this season). The baggy jogger bottoms just beg for the one-and-only Dr. Martens. This version we chose is both vegan leather as well as updated with an extra chunky flatform heel. For that final touch of punk-inspired bling, Kendra Scott’s chunky chain necklace in sterling silver and 2-Finger Ring in platinum drusy complete the fit beautifully.

IN THE TRENCHES

Have trenches ever been out of style? We don’t think so. But this season we’re seeing the humble trench re-envisioned in some truly fun and unexpected ways. Case in point, if a trench and a shacket had a baby, this tantalizing taupe version from Windsor is the beautiful result. Get your fall on by pairing it with some Cordovan brown faux leather 5-pockets from NYDJ (part of their Sculpt-Her™ collection that’s meant to enhance your already glorious curves). On top, sink into Mott & Bow’s decadent cashmere turtleneck and layer on some sparkle with two gorg gold necklaces. Next, add some western kick to your look with Ariat’s western bootie, and complete the look by giving your technology an upgrade with the Cade Leather watch band from Kendra Scott (Apple Watch not included).

GET YOUR MOTO RUNNING

Get ready to rev up Date Night. Because everything has a *core* on it these days, we’re here to tell you that bikercore isn’t just coming, it’s already here. What is bikercore, you ask? Simply put, it’s biker fashion with a nostalgic Y2K twist. And the Queen of this movement is the Moto. As with last season, cropped is the length to go for, but the ’22 upgrade is decidedly streamlined, with textural interests and muted hardware. For sure, this year’s moto will look amazing with tees and jeans, but we say take a cue from the “hot aught” girl herself, Paris Hilton, and complement this jacket with an equally sleek and sexy mini dress for maximum head-turning. Our choice with this fit is Windsor’s dark green, one-shouldered crepe dress. Keep the flirtation flowing with Valentino’s stunning studded sandals, Kendra Scott’s gunmetal earrings and cute kitty-cat Drusy bracelet. For the cherry on top, slide on Coperni’s crystal-embellished bag from the brand’s new season.

WE SENSE A PATTERN

All summer long we’ve been rocking kaleidoscope swirls, ultra-bright prints and lots of preppy patterns on our pants. So just because the weather turns cooler does that mean we’re shedding our patterned pants obsession? Not even close. We will however be trading in that air light jersey stretch for more substantial wools and crepes. And our patterns? Never fear, they’re still dominating…just in more seasonally moody hues. These wool jersey jacquard pants from Diane von Furstenberg’s fall collection understand the assignment completely. With such rich texture to play with, Windsor’s structured, corset chiffon top is the perfect counterpart for this office power look. Such a power look deserves an equally powerful necklace, which we found with Kendra Scott’s double strand statement necklace with its chunky gold chain and large veined purple Turquoise Magnesite beads. Sam Edelman’s platform loafers are the statuesque shoes needed to hold their own with the boot cut bottoms of the pants. We round things out with this season’s fantastic everyday bag from Mansur Gavriel, the M Bag.
