As summer draws to a close, we’re already dreaming of this Fall’s trending sweaters. Last season was pretty much dominated by the Chunky, but this season promises a welcome return to a variety of styles. We’re talking matching sets, turtlenecks, crochet and so much more.

Windsor, Keeping Knit Real Ribbed Knit Sweater $24.90 & Ribbed Knit Cami $14.90

Matching sets are trending hard right now, showing up in every configuration of color, texture and style. We’re loving this creamy-white, go-with-everything cami and cardigan combo from Windsor.

3BN, Averly Hooded Crochet Zip Up $64 (reg. $78)

With all the crafty trends that swept over us during the pandemic, it’s no surprise we would continue to crave cottagecore fabrics. Hence when we saw this happy blue number from 3BN we knew we had to have it. The generous sizing, huge front pockets and the easy zip front just sealed the deal.

Windsor, Basic Ribbed Knit Turtleneck $26 (reg. $36.90)

When it comes to warm and cozy wear, the turtleneck is at the top of the list. While it may have fallen out of favor for a time, for the past few years this mainstay of winter wear has been confidently making its comeback. Now here we are in 2021 and you’d be hard pressed to find a single designer that isn’t incorporating this sweater style into their F/W collections.

Wilson, Essex Sweater Polo $88

Upgrade your preppy polo with this knitwear version from Wilson. Made of quick-drying, four-way stretch you’ll immediately wonder why you didn’t have this one in your rotation already.

Windsor, Trendsetting Babe Cropped Sweater $28.90

A true classic, the striped sweater has never really been “out” of style. This season the iconic, ribbed striped crew is giving us serious 90s vibes. This rust, white and black beauty is a perfect example, with a cropped look to make it fresh for 2021.

Elie Tahari, Cut-out Shoulder Sweater $195

Negative spacing and cut outs were everywhere for spring/summer and the trend continues as we head into cooler climes. Described as a “modern take on the cold shoulder” this sweater from the 2021 Elie Tahari fall collection is made of super soft, 100% Merino wool and will be a welcome staple piece to your autumn outfits.

Windsor, Perfect Prep Contrast Trim Sweater Vest $32.90

Once relegated to the uniform of grandpas everywhere, the sweater vest continues to show up and show out for the 2021 fall season. Our current favorite interpretation is the thin knit, which looks fantastic by itself but utterly divine overtop of a big collar blouse and wide leg pant and/or a white tee, jeans and ankle boots. This bisque-colored version from Windsor is on our WANT list.

Ulla Johnson, Gemma Python Jacquard Sweater $347

Big rounded shoulders with ballooned sleeves, the Puff Sleeve has been showing up on shirts, jackets, dresses and, of course, sweaters. This butternut and black version by Ulla Johnson just sings all things fall.

Windsor, Pep It Up Cable Knit Sweater $34.90

With all our obsession around tennis looks this season, you would think we’d be carrying around rackets by now. The oversized and chunky versions of last season are being replaced this year with more body-con silhouettes, such as this winter white cable knit version from Windsor. Definitely this would look amazing with your high-rise, straight leg jeans.

Lulus, Peach and Blush Top Sweater $38

Why choose between colors when you can wear both? The split sweater look is a mini-trend that brings instant freshness to what might otherwise be just a simple cardigan. If you’re curious to try out this look, we suggest starting with this peach and blush version from Lulus as a subtle way to ease into it without too much commitment.

Windsor, Instant Classic Collared Knit Bodysuit $29.90

Comfortable and versatile, collared sweaters are a great go-to for that quick pulled-together look. Equally at ease with your faded jeans as they are with your mad cute plaid mini. Bonus – this version we found is actually a body suit! That means your silhouette will stay streamlined, regardless of what you pair it with.

Aiden, Ruffle Sweater $35.99 (reg. $180)

Ruffle details lend a fun and romantic air to sweaters this season. We’re really liking this burgundy beauty by Aiden, that gives us ruffles up top and billowy sleeves.

Windsor, Basic Cropped Hoodie $19.90

Elevate your loungewear look with some knit wear in the form of everyone’s fav top – the hoodie.

White Mark, Frostine Sweater Poncho $34.99

Just in case you weren’t aware…ponchos and capes are this season’s trendiest outerwear. Keep yourself fashionable and warm with this fuzzy sweater version.

Windsor, Keeping Knit Trendy Cropped Cardigan $32.90

Another interesting micro trend happening is the the cropped shrug. This ivory version from Windsor is perfect for pairing with tees or tanks for casual fits or a chic, neck tie blouse and wide leg trousers for a great office look.

rag & bone, Sadie Merino Wool Blend Crew $131.25 (reg. $350)

For those times when you want a cute sweater, but maybe the weather’s not there yet. Or for when you really want to show off your layering skills. Take your pick because see-through sweaters are a definite thing.

Windsor, You Better Work Lace-Up Crop $21.90

While it may seem a contradiction, open back sweaters are one of the more interesting knitwear trends you probably didn’t see coming. This french cream version from Windsor may appear to be a nice white knit tank in the front, but there’s all kinds of visual interest happening in the back. And we’re kinda obsessed over it.

No. 21, Rainbow Star Sweater $243 (reg. $485)

Smiley faces, zig zags, rainbows and more are moving out from your childhood imagination and into the office. Designers are proving that couture can also be young at heart.

Andersson Bell, Multicolor Boat Neck London Sweater $66

The wide neckline that runs horizontally is the perfect frame for those statement earrings you’ve been rocking on zoom calls during the pandemic.

Wandering, Single-shouldered Cable Sweater $87

Give new meaning to the phrase ‘put your shoulder into it’ with this season’s asymmetrical slant on tops. We’re loving everything about this piece, from the cheery color to the puffy sleeve and of course, who can resist a cozy cable knit? Not us!
