What is Corpcore? Our editors give the latest on the trend that’s perfectly poised for your fall wardrobes…
After years of ‘less is more’ comfort clothing, the fashion pendulum began to slowly swing this year. From Clean Girl, we went to Quiet Luxury, which morphed into Working Women (a la heavy 80s “Working Girl” inspo). Fast forward to now and as we sail into F/W 2024, our zeitgeist du jour has settled into the fabulousness that is Corpcore.
So what exactly is Corpcore, you ask? Well, similar to how Dark Academia took the straight-laced, prep girl school aesthetic and loosened it up with moody, cool girl vibes, Corpcore reinvisions the classic 90s and 2010s workwear wardrobe and juxtaposes those tropes with sultry, fem-forward touches, and/or deconstructing them in ways that are anything but corp cliché.
Ready to get down to business with this trend? Our Editors put together eight amazing fits giving major boss b!tch energy for your inspo.
Starting with this absolutely foolproof Corpcore 101 outfit. Here we have all the staple elements, including the crisp, white button down, courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana, followed by a pair of boss girl business pants and a charming, tailored vest, both from Windsor. To this perfect trinity comes a sleek pair of Guess kitten heels, Zenni’s no nonsense blue-blockers, and to finish things up, that ever-important pop of dark red…Mansur Gavriel’s under-the-armpit shoulder bag.

Supporting this playful power play, we slide on a pair of sleek slingbacks from Cato, add a briefcase-inspired top handle bag from Tiffany & Fred Paris and top things off with Baublebar’s over-sized, gold button earrings (they measure just under an inch in diameter each, so yeah, these guys are definitely statement).

Another hallmark of the Corpcore look is taking a basic business item and redefining it in a fresh way. This next fit understood the assignment, with Windsor’s fresh take on the office trench, reenvisioned in sweet denim blue, and Mica’s asymmetrical, double-button trousers. When paired with Boston Proper’s silky gray button up and Birkenstock’s sleek black leather sneaks, you have an envious office-friendly fit. All that’s left is to throw in a few accessories, like Dooney & Bourke’s gorg dark blue teal tote and Blenders’ studious tortoiseshell blue-blockers.

Who says monochromatic has to be boring? For our final fit we keep our palette on the white side, but use texturing to keep things from going too vanilla. Pairing Windsor’s satin midi dress with a twill weave, short-sleeve blazer by Manuel Ritz, starts things off nicely. To this we add Sarah Flint’s detail-oriented business pump, Zenni’s two-toned aviator blue-blockers, and finish with Cato’s nicely neutral, pearl handled crossbody.
