Gimme a Break: 15 Fab Fits You Want for Spring Break 2024

Hey there, spring breakers – It’s been a long winter and now it’s time to show some skin and have some fun in the sun!

Putting together a great spring break look can be a tad intimidating. So often we go for the “more is more” ideal and that can lead to major overpacking. But here at SLH, we’ve got you. Our Editors have put together fifteen full looks that are perfect for hitting the town, basking on the beach, or partying in the clubs. Let’s get started!

OUT ON THE TOWN

If you’re just seeing where the day takes you, you want to choose looks that are versatile and will keep you stepping in style. And if this is your day one, definitely consider how you’ll fair in the warmer temperatures by remembering to bring your water bottle and sunscreen. Here are some super cute but casual fits that are perfect for a day on the town.

Starting with cheery fit that combines Windsor’s sweet, satiny top with Aeropostale’s new season parachute cargo shorts (which sport a literal plethora of pockets…so nice!). Equally chic accessories help round things out with a pair of big buckle Birks, some stylish shades from Blenders (we’re loving the crystal pink tortoise pattern that makes them so unique), a multi-strand necklace by Kendra Scott and a big tote from Baggu that can handle everything you need to carry for the day.

There’s just something about warm sunshine and a fun, flirty maxi skirt. This colorful one from rag & bone is giving such main character. A skirt this cute deserves an equally exciting top, so skip the expected tee and go with this cool, textured knit top by Windsor instead. To keep that updated bohemian vibe going, we add some choice accessories, including a pair of sandals from Beek (made by hand, to last a lifetime), some oversized cat eye sunnies, and a roomy, tote in whipstitch faux leather.

This next fit is perfect for when you want to channel a little resort wear without breaking the bank. This cool, lace corset top by Windsor creates a lovely, lithe silhouette with Sugarlips’ marvelous monochromatic, wide leg pants. Slide into some equally luxe-look accessories, like these geometric aviators and a gorg mother-of-pearl statement necklace we found for a steal on Gilt. All that’s left is to slide into a pair of flatform slide sandals (courtesy of Clarks).

Hitting the town for some shopping? This lowkey fit is as easy as it is stylish. Windsor’s faux leather crop top and Aeropostale’s low rise cargo jeans are great by themselves, but add in some fresh visual interest such as Birkenstock’s super cush Thedas, Cotopaxi’s heritage cap, Obey’s animal-print inspired tote and a pair of Micas’ silver “melting” stud earrings? This whole fit is a serve.

This last look is perfect for taking in the sights without taking your fit too seriously. A playful baby blue crop top and charming white mini skorts (both from Windsor, TYVM) create quite the coquettish ensemble. Keep things casual, but on trend with a solid pair of New Balance 9060, Fjallraven’s hip bag and some super cute, polarized shades by Blenders. Finish things off with a layered necklace look that combines Kendra Scott’s silver/pearl chain and Adornia’s beaded and pearl beauty.

TAKE ME TO THE WATER

Whether it’s a dip in the pool, lounging at the lake, or a trip to the beach, you want an outfit that can handle the water and still slap.

Just because you’re on break doesn’t mean you can’t be doing something. In this case, these items are a combination of sustainable, recycled and socially focused materials that all come together. Reef’s Water Vista sandals are made from PVC-free EVA so they are completely waterproof and environmentally friendly. Dagne Dover’s water-resistant mini backpack is made in part from recycled plastics and upcycled neoprene. Vitamin A Swim’s stripey 2-piece is created from cast offs (material leftover from other fashion producers that would go into land fill). And you can take pride that purchasing from Boston Proper is supporting a wholly women-owned business (plus that hat is giving Hailey Bieber Straw Hat Day in such a big way).

Who doesn’t love a multi-tasker? This 2-piece by Eiwa is reversible, giving you four looks all in one (the blue/green pattern reverses to a solid, bright green on both the top and bottom). When you’re ready to grab some lunch and libations, slide into some rhinestone-fringed jean shorts by Windsor, a pair of waterproof Birkenstock sandals (in the cutest teal imaginable) and stash your stuff in Rock Flower Paper’s roomy, splash proof travel sack (the drawstrings let you carry it as a tote or a backpack). Finally, finish things off with one (or two) of Qalo’s awesome tie-dyed beach bracelets (they’re made of silicone, so they’re all day water friendly).

Heading straight from the pool to the party? Pull your look together fast and easy with these pieces. A classic black bikini set from Shade & Shore is a sophisticated choice for your day in the sun, plus these pretty purple, waterproof heels by Beach, and Blender’s future-vibing Metalverse wrap arounds. When you’re ready to head out, pull on Windsor’s multi-colored tropical mini, then tap into the super hot trending transparent look by topping on the Beckie mesh cropped top by Ambra Maddalena. No need to even swap out your jewelry when you have Enso’s colorful bracelet bundle, they’re 100% soft silicone that look as good in the water as they do out.

If your fun-in-the-sun excursions include some quality boat time, this final fit is for you. Start by going a little retro – as in naughties playful prints, as Cupshe did with this fanciful floral fellow. Keep the playful spirit going with Sphera Milano’s beaded smiley face necklace and a pair of faux suede flatform sandals by Beach. Knockaround’s moody mauve, oversized shades are lovely and lit, and Nautica’s water-resistant nylon hip bag ensures all your necessities stay dry and at your fingertips.

OUT TO DINNER

Sure, you’ll spend many a night in flip flops and shorts but at some point you and your squad are going to want to hit a proper restaurant to try out some cuisine that doesn’t include “you want fries with that?”. For these times, a fashionable outfit gives you instant chic.

This ruffled and ruched mini dress strikes the perfect balance of sexy and charming. Adding to the allure is easy with a few choice pieces, including some sky high platform sandals from Nina, a dripping pair of rhinestone and petal drops from Boston Proper, and rounding things out, this adorable heart stitched shoulder bag in a perfect medium size.

Grabbing a bite to eat before hitting the club scene? This fabulous-fitting fuchsia jumpsuit does fashionable double-duty. It’s a colorful eye-turner that is restaurant-appropriate and still offers plenty of bodycon to show off your best dancing queen moves. A fantastic piece like this deserves equally fanciful accessories, which we have with a confetti sequined bag by Shiraleah, some beautiful butterfly earrings by Cato and some lovely metallic lilac heels from Coconuts with the cutest rhinestone daisies.

When your craving something sweet and sassy to wear for your culinary adventures, you can never go wrong with florals. This blooming, ruffled mini dress by Windsor is a garden of delight. Pair it with an equally pretty blush bag from Dooney & Bourke, some sorbet-inspired espadrilles, and a pair of crisp white statement earrings. Bon appetite!

FIND ME IN THE CLUB

Hitting the dance floor with your ‘break crew means it’s time to show you have all the rizz. Bring on the brights, the bling and everything in between.

Hot nights call for cool whites, and this flirty mini dress from Windsor understood the assignment. Pair this party dress with some pretty-in-pink accessories, including Marc Jacobs’ must-have mini bag and Nina’s fabulous platform sandals. Add a dash of celestial energy with Rebecca Minkoff’s two-toned charm necklace and the night is all yours.

Are the temps truly fuego where you’re headed? Show the heat who’s boss with this skin-baring combo of sexy satin crop top and hot pink mini skort. Add some ear drama (in a good way) with Baublebar’s new season Lexi earring and cuff set. The set includes two stud pairings, a pair of huggies, and even an ear cuff set – all crafted with 18K gold plated sterling silver and set with beautiful bezel Cubic Zirconia stones. Talk about one and done! Some sizzling silver metallic heels from Matisse and a matching silver metallic mini bag by Tiffany & Fred Paris complete this look.

The dancefloor may get hot, but you’ll keep your cool in this dreamy, mesh tie-dye mini. Pair the pretty pastels with some serious flower power in the form of a 3D flower statement necklace and Nina’s sexy, red rouge clutch (comes with an attachable silver chain to wear as a crossbody). All that is left is to bring on the shine with Circus NY’s liquid metallic silver heels.
