East Coast Fashion Editor :
Winter has definitely hit hard this year, and we cannot wait to see some higher digits (personal editor’s note: if I never hear the words “bomb cyclone” again this year, it won’t be too soon!). So in the meantime while we wait for the mercury to rise, we’ve been plunging headfirst into this season’s swim suits. And we are so happy we did. Designers this year will have you coveting so many looks, you may just need to buy yourself a few (or three…or four…)!
A welcome return to the swimsuit roster this year is the One Piece. We like to think of it as the LBD of swim suits. Breaking down 2018, here are some of our favs.
Belted – We love the look of retro elegance, and these belted styles don’t disappoint
Shop This Look : Deep Red Self Tie Ruffles One Piece $28, Belted Halter One Piece $89, Solid and Striped The Nina Belted Ribbed Solid One Piece $178, Eres Studio Spray Belted Suit $540, Hunza G Solitaire Embellished Seersucker Swimsuit $180
Cut Outs – What started as the ‘it’ trend in dresses, shirts & skirts has made it’s way to this year’s swimwear. We love how it adds a little skin without having to go full 2-piece.
Off The Shoulder – Perfect for hanging out poolside and kissing those shoulder tan lines good-bye
Mesh – Another fabulous cross over from this season’s trends, mesh gives the illusion of skin while giving you the confidence of coverage.
Floral – Tropical, romantic, soft, retro…everything’s coming up floral this season, and swimsuits are no exception.
Shop This Look : Dolce & Gabbana Ruched Printed Halterneck Suit $495, Nanette Lepore Monaco Bouquet Goddess One Piece $156, Plus Size Floral Underwire Suit $41, Curvaceous One Piece $64, Plus Size Pineapple Floral Suit $40
Color Block – This old favorite is still going strong in a variety of colors and options to choose from
Lace Up – Front, back or side, this season’s lace up one pieces add just a little extra control to help you get that perfect fit every time
Active – For the gal who likes to spend as much time working up a sweat as a swim, you need a suit that can keep up with you.
Rash Guards – Speaking of active, when you know you’re going to be in the waves for a while, you should make sure you have the all-day protection a solid, long sleeve suit can give you
